When it's 108 outside...

I'm originally from Humboldt County, a very cold, foggy and rainy locale, so I have no patterns or experiences to draw from for what to do when the temperatures soar over 70 degrees.  This weekend summer came to the valley and reminded us all what Summer in the Valley is all about.  I have to capitalize that because it came like a boss!

Nonetheless, life goes on so we had to figure it out.  I had to run a few errands and I thought squeezing in a trip to the Fantasy Fountain down at Kid's Kingdom would be fun.  But first, there was the dreaded car ride....
However, once we got there, we could manage a smile or two.  It was so great to see kids and families out and about on this hot summer day. Check out the City of Redding's Fantasy Fountain website!

The fountain is such a great resource to help break the spell of those hot valley days.  http://www.reddingrecreation.org/REC_parks_fantasyfountain.html

And one last picture because I believe strongly that "mommy stays in the picture!" (http://www.huffingtonpost.com/allison-tate/mom-pictures-with-kids_b_1926073.html)... even if it is a selfie...
